The first Holmfirth Arts Festival will run between June 7th and 27th 2008 and will involve a range of concerts, performances, events and workshops at various venues around the Holme Valley. Already scheduled are:
An Evening with Joanne Harris, author of Chocolat, Five Quarters of the Orange and Blackberry Wine. Joanne will be interviewed about her career, how she started as a writer, and her latest novel, The Lollipop Shoes.
Ian McMillan & Tony Husband will be performing A Cartoon History of Here for the Festival’s closing event. This promises to be a fun-filled evening for all ages.
Magnificent Miniatures is the title of a unique exhibition taking place at Holmfirth Parish Church over the whole summer.
Behind the Scenes of the Antiques Roadshow – an evening with Christopher Lewis, past executive producer of the popular, long-running television show.
Philharmonic Brass, a new group of talented brass players, who cover a range of music, from the classics to more popular pieces.
